Hey lovelies,
Last Saturday night, I had the incredible opportunity to watch the Project Runway fashion show, as part of St. Louis Fashion Week! The hosts of the event were Melanie Moon, from KPLR News, and Laura Kathleen, a contestant from Project Runway season 9. Laura Kathleen now is based here out of St. Louis and some of her designs have been featured at the Mercedes – Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center, so it was a dream come true to be sitting several feet away from her as she hosted for the evening.
The night was full of collections from not only Laura Kathleen, but additional Project Runway contestants including Michael Drummond, Casanova, Viktor Luna, April Johnson, & Joshua McKinley. So many great looks came out of the evening, and I cannot wait to start buying some of these pieces for the season!

- St. Louis based Michael Drummond started off the evening with his “The Exquisite Corpse” collection, which was absolutely incredible (and dramatic at points). I am absolutely obsessed with the John Lennon – inspired sunglasses that many of the models wore, as well; it was fantastic.
-
Casanova’s collection included lots of intricate designs on the back of the blouses and dresses. His collection featured a dress with the most incredible beadwork. That dress was definitely a piece to remember!
-
Yet again, Anthony Ryan did not disappoint, as he debuted his newest collection. I am a huge fan of these pants & they are definitely on my Christmas list for this year. How cool are they? Definitely in love.

April Johnson’s collection showed next, and it definitely had a pattern. White. With headpieces. It was definitely a unique collection, and very interesting to see how the headpieces (that very much reminded me of tree branches) changed shape among all the models. Some models simply had one strand of “branch” in their hair, while others had almost helmets of branches. Definitely a unique show!
- Viktor Luna had a great sportswear collection that he described as “being able to add a pair of tennis shoes to the outfits and still look chic”. That is exactly the look he created with his outfits. Personally, I’m never inclined to buy athletic-wear, but I think his collection would definitely make me change my mind on that! The most amazing piece, though, I thought personally, was this dress! The colors and patterns were to die for!

Now is the time to personally be biased here, because Joshua McKinley is my absolute favorite; as a person & as a designer! Not only are pretty much all of his designs things that I can pull everything he designs into my closet, ready to wear. I was so tempted to grab this jacket right off the model and walk out of the Fox Theater with it, I am so obsessed. Another thing that gives Joshua McKinley brownie points is the fact that he did flips on the runway after the final walk. One cool guy right there.

Last but not least, the beautiful Laura Kathleen showed her upcoming collection. I was in love with the dress (below), even though I thought I was over peplums. Clearly, I wasn’t, because I love, love, love this dress!

I wore a dress from Forever xxi, a new favorite dress especially because it has a backwards collar and a bold zipper down the back! My earrings are from ALDO & were only $12.99! If you like them, I bought them last week, and they had just gotten them in, so they should definitely still be available! Finally, my hat is from H&M & my boots are Nine West from the Vintage America collection.
