Hello lovelies,
Well, today is a sick day for me. So, as I’m sitting here sipping on my chicken noodle soup & watching old reruns of the Cosby show, I decided to answer some of the questions that I have gotten emailed to me lately. And, if you didn’t email, {read ~ don’t care}…check back tomorrow for a great DIY!
- Where is your favorite place to vacation?
- Hmmmm….in the United States or outside of the United States? If you’ve read my blog for…well, a little longer than a day, you’ll know that my heart is in Guatemala, which is where my brother is adopted from. I love the country and the people, so that is definitely my favorite place outside of the United States. As for in the United States, last spring I had the opportunity to travel to the Orange County & LA area in Southern California with one of my best friends. That is definitely my favorite place so far in the United States.
- What exactly are you doing with your life?
- Well, I am a student, and I hope to graduate from the University of Missouri with a degree in Textile and Apparel Management. From there, if a job comes my way in the realm of being a buyer or visual merchandiser, I would definitely take it. In the future, my goal would be to open up my own boutique that mainly focuses on selling fair trade items from around the world, in order to provide impoverished men and women globally the opportunity to sell their handmade items for a fair price. That’s my goal for down the road that will require a lot of saving and planning though, so don’t expect to see me posting about my shop plans anytime soon, haha!
- Who inspires you the most?
- Well, thankfully, I’ve been blessed with the fact that I could have more than one answer to this question…but honestly, I would say my Mom is my biggest inspiration. When I was younger, she homeschooled me and my brother as well as having another job, and being a single mom. After that, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to go through many surgeries and chemotherapy sessions. But, every step of the way, she placed her faith in the Lord and made sure my brother and I were clinging to the Lord during that time as well. Now, she has been in remission for several years, which I am so grateful for, but she continues to stay strong in seemingly every other area of life. I seriously do not know where I’d be if I didn’t have her!
- What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
- For many, many years, it has remained the same, and only gained more meaning to me as I get older. It is Zephaniah 3:17 which says “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” This year, I was even able to read this Scripture to my church family, which was definitely a highlight for me. It just makes my heart so happy to think about the Lord rejoicing over me, someone who has really done a lot of things to screw up in my life, yet He still is utterly in love with me. It shows His crazy incredible grace, and makes me realize that, if He can give someone like me such grace, then, who am I not to show anyone and everyone this kind of grace too? It’s pretty incredible, to say the least!
Well, those are all the questions that I’ve been emailed recently! If you have any more questions, feel free to email me at liv.b@att.net & ask away! Also, like I said earlier, tune in tomorrow for a great DIY that I can’t wait to share with you!
Much love,
Olivia
