Well hello everyone – happy fall! There’s just something about fall that always makes me need a refresh of some kind. Every year when autumn breezes in, without fail, I have this overwhelming urge to change some things up. This year, unsurprisingly the same feeling hit. I have to admit, the summer brought lots of changes along with it, so honestly I wasn’t sure if I would get that feeling this season since so many things so recently changed. I mean with a new job, a new home, and lots of other new happenings in my life…I thought I’d just want some stability in this season. But here I am, ready to make change.
A few easy things I did to feel like I was making a change without *actually* making a major life change:
- I cleaned out my closet. Wow. A few trash bags and a trip to Plato’s Closet later, I feel refreshed and as though I’m only looking at my favorite pieces in my closet as opposed to a ton of excess things that simply weren’t getting worn anymore. Although I do it quite often, a good closet clean out at the beginning of each season really does just make all the difference in the world!
- I found a signature scent. Who else is still using up those Bath and Body Works body sprays from 2007?! Sometimes I feel like the farthest thing from an adult because I didn’t typically use a fancy designer perfume. Well, I found the perfect happy-medium for myself – Dossier perfumes sent me over a few scents that smelled literally just like designer perfume…but at a super affordable price point so this life change didn’t have to break the bank. That’s what I like to hear. They’ll also send a little sample bottle with each full-size bottle so you can test out the sample before deciding if you want to open and keep the full size version! 🙂 Dossier, you guys are real lifesavers here.
- I updated my morning routine. There’s just something about fall mornings where I crave spending them outside. Since I work from home during the day, I started waking up a little bit earlier, taking my French Bulldog Pixie for a walk to the nearest coffee shop, then heading back home to spend a little remaining time soaking up the fresh air in my backyard. Lately, my favorite thing to do is spend this backyard time listening to my fall playlist and reading for about 20 minutes before the workday begins. Even though it’s such a simple thing, it puts me in an amazing mood for the day!
Let me know…do you get the urge to change along with the seasons like I do? Do you tend to make major or simple changes? As always, thanks so much for being a part of this journey!
Much love,
Olivia
Also, I want to send a huge thank you to Dossier for graciously gifting me some of their incredible perfume to try! All opinions are my own.
